We all go through difficult times, but this lockdown was ONCE IN A LIFETIME kind of affair. We can prepare ourselves for a crisis we have heard, seen or anticipated. We get in a pickle when we are in an alien calamity. Our entire routine got disturbed, some of us went through a furlough, some of just had to lose our jobs or take a pay cut to sustain. For those who has a job is the WFH (working from home), I know it’s no piece of cake.

The fact is we cannot change what has happened, But can adapt to make this time easier. Let me share my secret and let’s look at the brighter side.

“Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” – Joshua J.Marine, Author.

The “ME” time.

Pick up a long-lost interest, over the years I m sure we all have complained about not having enough time for ourselves. I used to write poems in my school and college time and used to complain that I don’t get time anymore. I started writing again. This is the time to pickup things from where you left last, pick up that guitar you once played or the singing, the dancing anything that used to give you immense joy. Once this is all over, and it will, you’ll be glad you used time to the fullest.

Family time.

This is time to work on the family bonding. Everyone is at home, divide the house cores with everyone in a way they feel involved and not burdened. Remember, the time you wanted everyone to have at least one meal together. Now is the time to make full use of it. For instance, I told my older daughter to handle grocery expense out of a set budget and what ever money is saved from it is hers. She learnt money management and I had one less thing to worry about.

Add physical activity

Exercising releases endorphins in body which is also known as happy hormones. Any form of physical activity, yoga, cycling, running, brisk walking uplifts your mood and the bonus will be look fitter. Trust me its additive. Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, you have more energy to tackle daily chores.
