Sir Syed Group of Schools

On 21st March, 2014, the IMPA Kolkata Chapter conducted a session for 75 children from Sir Syed Group of Schools, an NGO in the port area slums of Kolkata.

Cherry Jhawar and Sana Jamal started the workshop by giving an introduction about IMPA and also speaking about the basic nuances of image and its importance. This was followed by a 1.5 hours long session on basic hygiene, grooming and importance of cleanliness. This was followed by a short discussion on importance of body language. Live demos were conducted on the correct postures of standing, sitting and walking confidently. Under social networking awareness, they spoke on how social networking works, its advantages and disadvantages and do’s and don’ts. Notepads and pens were distributed post the session and pens were distributed post the session.

The kids seem to like these topics and asked apt questions showing their keenness to learn and implement the same.

It was a great experience and a wonderful opportunity for the facilitators Cherry and Sana, to give back to the society.
