As per the statistics from the National Cancer Grid, the projected incidence of patients with cancer in India among males was 679,421 (94.1 per 100,000) and among females 712,758 (103.6 per 100,000) for the year 2020. In India, 60-70% of cancer are detected at stages 3-4 which have a low rate of Survival as compared to when it is detected at 1-2 Stage. 

On 9/April/2020 IMPA Bangalore organized a session, with Dr. Anthony Pais from Cytecare Cancer Hospital, who has 31 years of experience as a Surgical Oncology and is among the few breast surgeons who are also specialized in breast radiology. 35 IMPA members from across India attended the session.

Dr. Pais shared his knowledge on the Common type of cancer, early signs of cancers, how to detect them, and also cleared a lot of misconceptions surrounding cancer. It was a very interactive session where members asked their doubts and shared their personal stories as well.
